Disciple of Israel ?

The scriptural basis for my concept of "Talmidim Yisrael" (Disciples of Israel) is the Prophet Zechariah speaking about the special Anointed role that Israel plays in the latter days (which days are now).

“Adonai-Tzva’ot says, ‘In the future, peoples and inhabitants of many cities will come; 21 the inhabitants of one city will travel to another and say, “We must go to ask Adonai’s favor and consult Adonai-Tzva’ot. I’ll go too.” 22 Yes, many peoples and powerful nations will come to consult Adonai-Tzva’ot in Yerushalayim and to ask Adonai’s favor.’ 23 Adonai-Tzva’ot says, ‘When that time comes, ten men will take hold — speaking all the languages of the nations — will grab hold of the cloak of a Jew and say, “We want to go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.

As the Gentile Nations begin to seek Hashem and long to find favor from Him they are to be guided by the Jew, i.e., Israel, to their destination. The picture of 10 men from the Nations, taking ahold of the cloak of a single Jew, is a clear picture of discipleship. For when a Jew, a Torah scholar, has at least 10 men clinging to him alone for guidance in Torah and the path of righteousness, then those 10 men are his disciples. In this picture we see that the Nations are to be the "Talmidim Yisrael", Disciples of Israel. 

Now in light of this prophetic word from Zechariah--it is up to us all to reciprocate and work with Hashem in this matter. It is the prophetic responsibility of the Gentile to cling to and learn from the Jew, for the Nations to learn from Israel, and it is the responsibility of the Jew to guide the Gentile on the way, the path of Torah, to the Glory of Hashem, blessed be He.
